The Sensis veteran brings extensive public health experience to her new role
WASHINGTON — SensisDC Managing Director Sharon Carothers has been named managing director of SensisHealth, a specialized health care marketing practice helping providers, payers, government and nonprofits, pharmaceutical companies and device manufacturers improve outcomes for a diverse population of patients, consumers and caregivers. Carothers brings two decades of public health experience to her new role leading the health practice for Sensis.
“The pandemic has put public health at the top of everyone’s mind right now, so it’s vital to provide meaningful messaging and guidance at this crucial time,” Carothers said. “We have developed quality relationships with a number of public health partners across all levels of government over the years. It’s my job to leverage that work and forge new opportunities with clients in the private sector.”
SensisHealth has worked on a variety of local and national initiatives for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Department of Health and Human Services. Additionally, SensisHealth has worked with providers, payers, and device manufacturers including AltaMed, UnitedHealthcare, and Cochlear to create cross-cultural marketing programs.

Carothers has held consulting and leadership positions with The Lewin Group, the Truth Initiative and Booz Allen. She has a master’s in social welfare policy from Boston University and master’s in public health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
